Effective October 12, 2026
QuoteWidget is made by Axel Sjaunja. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the QuoteWidget app on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
QuoteWidget does not collect any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your quotes and settings stay on your own devices.
If iCloud is turned on for QuoteWidget, your library (quotes, folders and who said them) is stored in your own iCloud account so it is the same on your devices. Apple handles this under its own privacy policy. We cannot see it.
When you tap the sparkle button next to "Who said it", the app sends the text of that quote to Wikiquote and Wikidata (run by the Wikimedia Foundation) to find the author. Nothing else is sent: no name, account or device identifier. This only happens when you tap the button. Wikimedia's privacy policy is at https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Policy:Privacy_policy.
"Search the web" opens your web browser with a search for the quote. From then on, that search engine's own privacy policy applies.
When you share a quote, an image or a folder, it goes only where you send it, using Apple's share sheet.
QuoteWidget does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
